There are lots of good credit cards out there that will feel out of reach due to the Minimum Spending Threshold. FIRST: NEVER SPEND MORE THAN YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH. Having said that, there are a number of ways to meet minimum spend thresholds. Also Note: DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE ABILITY TO USE THESE TECHNIQUES. Banks are in business to make money. If you go too far with these, you run the risk of having the banks close down your accounts.
Prepaid Gift Cards
Prepaid Visa Gift Cards can be purchased at gas stations, grocery stores and pharmacies. These gift cards all can have a 4-digit PIN set (pro-tip: Most come pre-set as the last four digits of the 16-digit debit card number). Once you know the PIN, simply go to a grocery store or Wal-Mart and purchase a money order. Take that money order and deposit it into your bank. As stated above, do not go overboard. It should be OK to deposit $1K-$2K of money orders in your bank a month, but large deposit amounts may lead a bank to close your account.
